Gutters, Skylights & Roofing Accessories

Gutter installation, skylight repair, roof ventilation, and chimney flashing. The details that make a roof system work.

The details that make the whole system work

A roof is more than shingles or tiles. Gutters move water away from your foundation. Ventilation keeps your attic cool and dry. Flashing seals every joint and penetration. When these components fail, the whole system suffers.

We handle all of it.

Gutters

We fabricate seamless aluminum gutters on-site from a continuous coil. No seams means fewer leak points, and they come in multiple colors to match your trim. For existing gutters with sagging sections, leaking joints, or detached downspouts, we repair them before small problems cause foundation or landscaping damage.

We also install gutter guards to keep leaves and debris out (especially important if you have trees near your roof) and plan downspout routing to direct water well away from your foundation.

Skylights

Adding a skylight can transform a room. We handle the full process: roof opening, framing, flashing, and installation, working with major brands including Velux and Fakro. For leaking skylights (one of the most common roof problems), the cause is usually flashing failure, not the skylight itself. We diagnose the real problem and fix it.

We also install tubular skylights, a smaller and more affordable option for bringing natural light into hallways, bathrooms, and closets without the structural work of a full skylight.

Ventilation

Ridge vents provide continuous ventilation along the roof peak and are the most effective passive method for most roof types. Paired with soffit intake vents under the eaves, they create proper airflow through the attic. For homes where passive venting is not enough, we install powered attic fans. They are particularly useful in LA’s hotter inland areas.

Why does this matter? An underventilated attic reaches 150+ degrees in LA summers. That heat cooks your shingles from underneath, shortening their life. It also makes your AC work harder. Proper ventilation can lower attic temperatures by 40 degrees.

Chimney flashing

Step flashing and counter-flashing around chimneys is one of the most common leak sources on any roof. We do it right with proper metal work and sealing. If your existing chimney flashing is rusted, separated, or sealed with caulk (a temporary fix at best), we replace it with properly installed metal flashing.

Soffit and fascia

Rotted fascia boards and damaged soffit panels are usually a sign of poor drainage or ventilation. We fix the underlying cause and replace the damaged material. We work with wood, aluminum, and vinyl, each with different trade-offs in terms of cost, appearance, and maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about gutters, skylights & roofing accessories in Los Angeles answered by our team.

How much does gutter installation cost in Los Angeles?

Seamless aluminum gutter installation typically costs $1,000 to $3,000 for a standard home, depending on the linear footage, number of corners, and downspout count. Copper gutters cost significantly more. We measure your home and give you an exact price before starting.

What is better, seamless or sectional gutters?

Seamless gutters are better in almost every way. They are fabricated on-site in one continuous piece, so there are no joints to leak. Sectional gutters have seams every 10 feet, and each seam is a potential leak point. Seamless costs slightly more but lasts longer and requires less maintenance.

Are gutter guards worth it?

If you have trees near your roof, gutter guards save you time and prevent clogs that cause water damage. They keep leaves and debris out while letting water flow through. They do not eliminate maintenance entirely, but they reduce cleaning frequency from twice a year to once every few years.

How often should I clean my gutters?

Without gutter guards, twice a year is the minimum: once in late fall after leaves drop and once in spring. If you have pine trees or other heavy shedders nearby, you may need more frequent cleaning. Clogged gutters cause water to overflow and damage your foundation, siding, and landscaping.

Where should downspouts be placed?

Downspouts should direct water at least 4-6 feet away from your foundation. We plan placement at the low points of each gutter run and route extensions to carry water toward proper drainage. This is where a lot of installers cut corners, and where foundation problems start years later.

What gutter material is best, aluminum or copper?

Aluminum is the standard choice. It is lightweight, rust-proof, affordable, and comes in multiple colors. Copper costs 3-4 times more but lasts indefinitely and develops a distinctive patina. Copper is a great choice for high-end or historic homes where appearance justifies the cost.

How much does skylight repair cost?

Most skylight leak repairs cost $300 to $800. The cause is usually flashing failure around the skylight, not the skylight itself. If the skylight unit needs replacement, a new Velux or Fakro skylight with proper installation runs $1,500 to $3,500 depending on size.

Why is attic ventilation important?

An underventilated attic reaches 150+ degrees in LA summers. That heat cooks your shingles from underneath and shortens their lifespan. It also makes your AC work much harder. Proper ridge and soffit ventilation can lower attic temperatures by 40 degrees and extend your roof's life.

How do I know if my chimney flashing needs repair?

Look for rust, gaps between the flashing and chimney, crumbling mortar around the counter-flashing, or water stains on the ceiling near the chimney. If the flashing was sealed with caulk rather than properly installed with step and counter-flashing, it is a temporary fix that will fail.

Do you repair rotted fascia boards?

Yes. Rotted fascia is usually caused by poor gutter drainage or inadequate ventilation. We fix the underlying cause first, then replace the damaged fascia material. We work with wood, aluminum, and vinyl fascia depending on your home and budget.

Can you add a skylight to an existing roof?

Yes. We handle the full process including roof opening, structural framing, flashing, and skylight installation. We work with Velux and Fakro units. Tubular skylights are a smaller, more affordable option that brings natural light into hallways, bathrooms, and closets without major structural work.
